Whirlcare Industries, under the guidance of Otmar Knoll, has created Timeout, a spa bath designed to help individuals reduce stress, relieve tension, and find inner balance. The design was inspired by the need to increase well-being and performance capability. The spa bath features special hydrotherapy jets positioned anatomically to provide an underwater massage, targeting muscular reaction points. The design process involved not only designers and technicians but also medical professionals to ensure the effectiveness of the therapeutic features.

Timeout stands out for its combination of maximum functionality and modern Bauhaus style design. It offers a luxurious retreat from the hectic pace of everyday life, with intensive hydromassage functions that can alleviate even persistent tensions. The design language is striking, reflecting the elegance inherent in the Bauhaus style.

The production of Timeout emphasizes resource-efficient, sustainable practices. Whirlcare uses eco-friendly materials that are recyclable and free of pollutants. The spa bath tubs are reinforced with an environmentally friendly PU material, and the high-performance ISO Green insulation reduces energy costs. The edgy design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical, allowing the insulation to reach every corner for maximum thermal efficiency.

The Timeout model is equipped with four Hydro Power Pumps that provide powerful hydromassages. It features 94 hydrotherapy jets distributed over four seats and a lounger, enabling varied hydrotherapy massages that reach almost all body zones. The outer panels can be easily attached and removed for maintenance convenience. The design was produced in Whirlcare’s own production facility in Southern Germany and made its first public appearance at the 2019 aquanale show in Cologne, Germany.

The design of Timeout faced several challenges, including the need to match the renaissance of the Bauhaus style in architecture. The production process of deep drawing with square tubs was particularly difficult. However, the team managed to combine maximum functionality with a modern design that exudes elegance and a striking design language. The result is a spa bath that not only enhances the aesthetics of any garden or patio but also promotes physical well-being with its therapeutic features.

Timeout has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Golden A' Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design Award in 2020.
